My Thoughts: Romans 3
While the beginning of this chapter I found to be somewhat unclear, I took great comfort in the latter half. Paul is talking about Jews and Gentiles and how not only are Jews unrighteous but all people, including gentiles. Stopping here, we could easily get discouraged, however Paul goes on to say that I'll can achieve righteousness through Jesus if they believe. How great is this! God didn't come to save only an elite group of people, but all of us. God wants to be the God of us all! He looks past nationality or background and accepts us all based on what's in our hearts.
But even thought God looks past nationality or background, it can be hard for us to do so. Simply looking past looks to get to know the heart of a person can prove a huge challenge. While it may be more comfortable to talk to those similar to yourself, we need to put those things behind us. If not we could be standing in the way of someone receiving encouragement from God.
